Guggulu (Commiphora mukul), also referred to as Indian myrrh, has a long tradition in traditional Asian medicine. The main ingredients of guggulu are its steroids, called guggulsterones. These substances can make a big difference between Commiphora mukul and other Commiphora (myrrh) plants.
