Description

Amalaki (Amla)

  • Amla is referred to in Ayurveda as the "fruit for youth and beauty" (scientifically unproven). It is considered the most important Rasayana. The fresh fruit is extremely sour and contains a lot of vitamin C. Of the six possible flavours, the fruit contains five flavours, with only the salty flavour missing.
  • Amla addresses all three of the doshas, but mainly the pitta dosha.
  • Normally, Amla fruits are traditionally boiled shortly after harvest to separate the pulp from the kernel. The resulting powder is usually almost black. In contrast, our Amla products mechanically separate the pulp from the kernel without heating it. The fruits are dried at low temperatures and are then ground to powder. This powder is creamy white and contains a high ORAC value due to the gentle processing.

Recommended use:

  • take 2 teaspoons daily in water, in a smoothie or sprinkled over food.
