Description
Delicious Ayurvedic Sweets
- This Ayurvedic confectionery is prepared according to the original recipe, i.e. with ghee instead of butter and sharkara (the traditional Ayurvedic sugar). The traditional name for laddu in Ayurveda is "modak", which means a preparation that makes the inner body happy.
- Laddu was traditionally used during pilgrimages. The pilgrims were given laddus to provide a boost in energy and strengthen the experience of meditation and prayer, upon arrival at the holy sites. In Ayurveda laddus are considered foods with effect: laddus promotes "jathar agni" (the digestive fire in the stomach).
- The toasted chickpea flour is a significant source of high-quality protein, especially for children and breastfeeding mothers. For vegetarians is offers valuable proteins.
