Bibhitaki - balances all three doshas

Essential ingredient in Triphala

The Belerian Myrobalane, Bibhitaki in Sanskrit, is a fruit that is very popular in India and is used both in cooking and in traditional medicine. Bibhitaki fruits have a 40% oil content. They are said to be astringent and pungent in taste. What is particularly valuable about the Bibhitaki fruit is that it can bring all three doshas into balance. It is one of the three ingredients essential in Triphala alongside amalaki and haritaki.
