Ayurvedic Meals - Carrot Humus

Out-of-the-box humus recipe.

Humus is an Oriental specialty that is usually made using mashed chickpeas. However, there are other types of humus, that incorporate a different basic ingredient as our current recipe shows. This time around, carrots are used in place of chickpeas.

The Recipe

Ingredients:

500 g sliced carrots

1-2 tsp ghee

1 tsp cumin seeds

A dash of lemon juice

A pinch of black pepper

1 small piece of ginger root

2 tsp Tahina (sesame paste)

Preparation

Fry the carrots and cumin seeds until soft. Place the mixture in a blender and add the remaining ingredients. Blend until a creamy, uniform consistency is formed. Garnish with fresh herbs and enjoy!
